Video Insight Support | 3.0 Installation FAQ's
Video Server Installation has two basic steps - installing the interface card and loading the software. The following are common questions we receive about installation issues. If you have any other issues, please contact technical support.

Run the 3.0 InstallShield Wizard. If you are upgrading a single component, select the component from the list and click Next through the screens and Install. If you have multiple Video Insight products on the same machine and you want to upgrade all of them, select Custom Install and select the appropriate items that you want to upgrade. I want to install additional components onto this computer. How do I do that?To install additional Video Insight products on a computer that already has 3.0 products on it, go to the Windows Control Panel and open up Add/Remove Programs. Click on the "Change" button for Video Insight Suite of Products. Three options will appear: Modify, Repair, and Remove. Select Modify and click Next. Leave checkmarks next to the components that you want to keep, and add checkmarks next to the additional components you want to install. Click Next and InstallShield will complete the installation for you.
Why should I register my product?Properly registering your product with us insures that you will be notified when upgrades are available and grants you the one-year warranty included with the purchase of your Video Insight product.
I receive an error: "Invalid serial number. Please call technical support."Your server may not have access to the Internet. Check to ensure a live connection. If you are able to access a site (like www.video-insight.com) then the Serial Number you entered either is not correct or has already been activated the maximum number of times.
What happens if I have to reinstall my Video Server after it had been activated?All you need to do is back up the registration code before you remove the software. To do this go to the Registry Editor and copy and then paste the registration code to your desktop. After you have reinstalled 3.0, drop the registration code back into the Registry Editor without actually activating your software.
During installation, why do I get a message "Virtual Directory already exists"?Check your Task Manager to make sure that the virtualdirectory.exe process is not running. If the process is there, end it. The Install Shield may appear to not be doing anything at this point, do not worry, it is working in the background, it will take 3 to 5 minutes for this part of the installation to be complete.
